Metro South offers wonderful volunteer opportunities through the Volunteer Connection.
Volunteer Opportunities through Metro South in Eden Prairie include:
English as a Second Language
- Classroom Assistant Volunteer-Assist a teacher with small group instruction or help with one-on-one activities or conversation practice. Orientation provided. Optional training through the Minnesota Literacy Council is available.
- Volunteer Tutor-Help lead collaborative classes at various community ESL locations. Orientation provided. Volunteer tutors are required to attend one 12-hour Tutor training through the Minnesota Literacy Council.
Other Volunteer Opportunities through Metro South include:
- Learning Exchange Volunteer-Help adults with disabilities in customized community education classes. A one-time hour-long training is required.
Basic Skills Tutor-Help SHAPE students (American and Foreign born) with work on reading, writing, math, or computer skills. An optional 12-hour training is available through the Minnesota Literacy Council.
